Chef For Hire
Posted on January 14, 2010
Like good food, but have limited time to make it? No, wait. You like good food, but you absolutely hate cooking? Maybe you’re spending way too much money dining out during the week? No matter what answer you might choose, I think I can remedy the situation.
I. Can. Cook. For. You.
I have officially pulled out my “Kendall Alumni” chef jacket & made myself available for hire! Here are the offerings:
Personal Chef services
- Pick your ‘contract term’: monthly, 3 months (5% off), 6 months (10% off).
- All meals are cooked in your home using your cookware, if available.
- Entree prices include 1-2 side items, depending on the individual dish. Prices can also be provided for main dish only.
- Meal preparation is completed during a time we decide together, generally once/week. In some cases, dishes will be frozen.
- All dishes will come with reheating/thawing instructions.
- I will provide containers for food at no additional charge.
Once we’re in touch, I’ll send you a questionnaire to get a better sense of your kitchen space/inventory and food likes/dislikes. After that, it’s a piece of cake, so to speak
.
Dinner parties & small-event catering
Dinner Parties
Want to have a dinner party but only want to cook a little, or not at all? I’ll hook you up. Three & five course meals can be cooked by me in your house, or whatever else you want . Heck, you could even share the price among friends for a relaxing meal in your home!
Small Event Catering
Summer shindig? Bridal luncheon? Poker night? Small event catering is the perfect way to entertain your guests without touching the saute pan. Leave that to me!

Cost is $40-$60 per person, depending on menu and number of guests. A 50% deposit is required once the menu is planned and agreed upon. Your responsibility: decorations, serving dishes (usually), and alcohol.
Cooking classes
Want to be a better cook, learn some core cooking techniques or even sharpen your knife skills (pun intended)? I’m happy to provide one-on-one or group instruction – just like The Chopping Block, but at your house! One course or packages.
Possible classes (can adjust according to your specific needs):
- Knife skills – learning the basic cuts, just like we do in culinary school
- Ethnic cuisine – instructions for cooking specific types of food such as Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Spanish, Thai, etc.
- Cooking techniques – from egg poaching to braising to making breads and pastries.

Gift packages
I love making all sorts of goodies for friends and family, so why not make them for your friends and family? preserves? desserts? freezer-friendly foods for those unexpected guests? You name it, I’ll make it.
Prices, of course, vary based on what I’m making and how many.
Need suggestions? How about ginger cookies or homemade oreos? Scones, anyone? They freeze perfectly and last months. Pretzels? Bread? Granola bars? Like marshmallows? I can make tons of flavors, and you’ll love them, if I don’t eat them first (the possibilities are endless!). I’m working on getting a site set up on Etsy (I have a few listings on there already), but until then I’m happy to provide quotes and pricing through email.

Contact me for more details on any of the above services. I look forward to hearing from you!
